All the literature texts are mind-boggling. Abstract, and so much symbolism going on that it takes a lot of effort to put everything together. (After quite a few tutorials/lectures/essays, I learnt that I'm not really a big-picture person.)

Just watched Hiroshima Mon Amour, the film text we'll be doing soon, and oh my goodness. Because the characters aren't named (in the textbook they're called 'he' and 'she'), they can represent a lot of stuff... and their actions can represent a lot of stuff too.
This goes for Waiting for the Barbarians.
Anyway, the film got a bit creepy 'cause the characters seemed a bit psychotic after a while, and there was this bit that seemed like a horror movie 'cause it involved the female lead walking around in the hotel hallway alone. Yes, I half-expected some random monster/stalker to pop out. The freaky music didn't help.
Whoever said that works in modern English are supposed to be easier than Shakespearean plays?!

I'm losing my motivation. Bad, bad, bad.

Oh, one new thing I learnt today: peppermint milkshake/milk tea/whatever tastes like colgate, so it's not a good idea to try that. Peppermint overkill. Hahah.

is it the bottled almond peppermint drink? haha, i figured out it would taste like sweet toothpaste!

this Honeysuckle White Tea canned drink that's around in the vending machines is terrible too. too sweet, and the aftertaste, in limin's words, is 'pwack! like drinking wild flowers'. hahaha.

I did Hiroshima for my exposure module too! (EN2102E). I thought the salt/blood licking thing was haunting. and it was all very sad, i cried :(
