Ever heard of this song?

Que Sera, Sera

When I was just a little girl,
I asked my mother, "What will I be?
Will I be pretty? Will I be rich?"
Here's what she said to me.

"Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be.
The future's not ours to see.
Que Sera, Sera.
What will be, will be."

When I was just a kid in school,
I asked my teacher, "What will I be?
Will I be teaching? Will I be rich?"
Here's what she said to me.

"Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be.
The future's not ours to see.
Que Sera, Sera.
What will be, will be."

The kid, the mom, and the teacher all have strange mentalities.

The kid seems to be obsessed with being pretty and rich. Did no one ever tell her that beauty is skin-deep, and that she should care more about her exam results than how she looks?
Okay, maybe looks will get her places. If she wants to be a model or an artiste. But she wants to be a teacher! So she what, intends to charm the students into listening to her with her beauty? Or perhaps looking pretty will make her students pay attention, especially the male students.

And the two adults sound so typically submissive. "Whatever will be, will be"? What happened to taking things into our own hands? What happened to working hard to get what you want?

'Tis a screwed-up world.

Okay, I'm just ranting rubbish. Don't mind me. Hahah.
